Will Cates PT, DPT, ES is a licensed physical therapist specializing in sports rehabilitation and performance enhancement.  After earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2004 from Concordia University Wisconsin he began working in an out-patient orthopedic setting in Crystal Lake, IL.  Subsequently he decided to actively pursue specialization into the field of sports medicine and was selected as the inaugural candidate for the Hospital for Special Surgery Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program in New York City.

During the residency Will dedicated a year to refining skills as a sports Physical Therapist while performing research and co-authoring an article titled “Advances in Rehabilitation and Performance Testing.”   He looks forward to utilizing these skills to improve his patients’ treatment experience while addressing performance enhancement in their sport. 

Will’s interest in sports rehabilitation stems from his own experiences in athletics.  As a life long soccer player, including four years in college, he continues to enjoy sports performance enhancement including strength training and sports-specific conditioning.
